The parts are connected with each other through a small hinge. Both bows respectively cuffs can only be opened and closed simultaneously. The lock consists of two tiny holes at the ends of the bows. An Allen screw is inserted and fastened with the Allen key that is included in the contents of delivery.  

Due to the design the connection between the two parts of the leg iron are very discreet – which adds to the decorative and unusual character of the model.
