When a stab protection vest is KDIW certified it has successfully passed several examinations at the VPAM (Vereinigung der Prüfstellen für angriffshemmende Materialien und Konstruktionen - Association of the Inspecting Authorities for Attack Resistant Materials and Constructions). Has it been tested for blades and knifes it belongs to the class K and is graded accordingly to this category. The spectrum reaches from class K1 to class K4 where K1 offers the lowest degree of significant protection and K4 offers the highest safety.

Have there been other tests and examinations with other potential weapons the vest can have an additional class. They are named according to the category of the weapons (in German): Nails and thorns (D), needles and injection syringes (I) as well as impact and through bodies (W).

WHAT DOES A STAB PROTECTION VEST HAVE TO OFFER WHEN IT IS CERITIFIED?

A certificate proofs that the vest offers protection against attacks with weapons.
